Community Groups
What are Community Groups?
FBC has a vision to be a Redemptive Community influencing people in Southern New Jersey to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We hope to be influencing redemptive change within our individual neighborhoods and towns. To do so, we need smaller communities of believers to do life together in small groups, serving their neighbors and being salt and light in their neighborhoods. Our passion is to be a “Community of Communities”. Community groups are typically made up of 10-14 adults. The groups focus on four things:
- Building relationship with one another. This is a “community”. It is a place to feel safe, to be able to share honestly and openly, a place where people know your “story”.
- Life application of the Word of God.
- Worship and prayer. We pray for each other, and seek God with each other.
- Serve one another and serve our “neighbors”. As people bind together, there is a natural sharing of service to one another in practical needs. All of our groups are encouraged also to find practical ways to serve others in need in our neighborhoods (whether it be inner city or locally)
When do Community Groups Meet?
God never intended for the Christian life to be a solo flight. We are designed to live and grow in community. Our vision at FBC is to be a “Community of communities”, one body meeting in many small groups. We strongly encourage your participation in a Community (made up of 10-15 adults). It is here that we experience the “ONE ANOTHERS” of the New Testament (“pray for one another, encourage one another, exhort one another, welcome one another”, etc.)
How do I get involved in a Community Group?
The easiest way to get involved with one of our Community Groups is to fill out our signup form. This will allow our Community Group coordinator to know you’re interested and get you connected!
