Missions Trip to Quebec
Ça a très bien été! This is a phrase we learned at the conclusion of the Missions Trip to Quebec. This short mission’s trip is to help the missionaries who serve with Crossworld as they attend their annual conference. Our ministry is to help watch the children of the missionaries so that the parents can attend all the meetings and not have to worry about what their kids are doing. We began helping in this way in 2004 and each year a team of 5 – 8 teens come and help. Pastor Jim and his wife, Ann lead the team and help with all the planning and logistics of the trip. The teens and college age students who come to help spend their time playing games, reading to the kids, interacting with the adults and providing a lot of energy for the entire conference. They also get to experience worshipping together with the missionaries in French and English as well as joining with the missionary kids in some Bible study. This year 10 of us went to Quebec and helped with children from 6 months old to 20 years old. There were 17 missionaries in attendance and 13 missionary kids.
Every year the Crossworld missionaries tell us how grateful they are for our help and ministry, the energy we bring and the love we are able to show to their kids. It is a simple ministry, but one that has long lasting impact.
After the conference is over we get to spend a day in the Old City of Quebec, experience the French culture and some great food.
Oh, yes. The phrase we learned means “It went very well!”
