Adoption Support Group
The Adoption Support Group is the part of Precious in His Sight that focuses on encouraging adoptive parents and adopted children by building a community of fellowship for those united in this experience.  Anyone who has adopted, is in the process of adopting, or is considering adoption is welcome to attend.  The group meets one Saturday a month; every other month the gathering is for the whole family, and during the other months the gathering is for adults only.  This ensures that adopted children have opportunity to fellowship with peers who share their experience, and it provides adoptive or prospective parents the opportunity to connect more intimately with others on a similar journey.

Adoption and Orphan Care Conference
Precious in His Sight is hosting a conference for adoptive and prospective parents at FBC on October 2, 2010.  The conference is designed to educate and encourage those involved in the process, or those interested in supporting the ministry.  All members of FBC are encouraged to attend in order to learn more about adoption and orphan care and be better equipped to fulfill the charges of Scripture (James 1:27; Isaiah 1:17; Psalm 68:5-6) and get connected to this vital ministry of our church body.

About the Leaders: Brian and Kristen Pickard
Brian and Kristen have three children: Annika (6, biological); Brayden (3 ½, adopted); and Ada (16 months, biological).  They believe adoption is a big part of God’s heart, part of the church’s mission, and a significant piece of the pro-life movement, so they desire to raise awareness, provide education, and give support for families journeying through this process.  Even if adoption is not for everyone, they believe the ministry of adoption and caring for orphans is something everyone can support, and they are eager to talk to anyone interested in supporting adoptive parents and children.
