MOSAIC
FBC young adults make up our MOSAIC ministry. Most of us are 18-30ish and we would be honored to get to know you and join you in your faith journey.
All of our living out of the gospel can be described as our simple purpose statement: “Be His - In Community - Do Love.”
MOSAIC is a three-headed monster. We believe that you need to now why you do, what you do, the way that you do it. Because of that, we have three major things that we do:
- - Once a month gatherings. The fourth Wednesday of every month.
- - Community Groups. Meet in various homes at various times.
- - Projects of Compassion. We are always in planning or participating in ways to serve people in our community or around the world.

So here is the ‘why’
We believe that God has blessed us. Our community groups are doing amazing right now. Two months ago we had our largest Mosaic ever. We have seen God do many things here (tailgate Sunday, silent auction, all church Thanksgiving Service, etc.) in addition to some things there (China missions trip and various projects of compassion).
BUT, while we have had a lot of awesome CONTENT in our Mosaic gatherings, I fear we have lost some CONNECTION these past months. I fear that we have become a little focused on the nuts and bolts of mosaic, and - in our natural busyness - we have not had as much of a chance to be with each other. The last Mosaic felt a little like ‘a service’ and less like ‘hanging together discussing and loving Jesus’.
Adding to this is the fact that we have a lot of college students coming back this summer and we are excited for them and want to make sure we are spending time being with them, and not just mulling over deep content.
SO, we believe that we need to spend less ‘DO’ and more ‘BE’.
//Awkward empty space to rev you up for the WHAT//
(okay, okay, its a nerdy formatting thing, just please keep reading)
Here is the ‘what’
1. No once-a-month Mosaic until September.
2. But, every WEDNESDAY having time together. Looking like ...
6:00 to 7:30 - Casual prayer and sharing time for anyone who would like to come
(think outside, someone grabs a guitar, someone else asks for specific prayer, someone else picks some grass ... wait, not that kind of grass, TARON!)
7:30 to whenever - MASSIVE SOCCER TOURNAMENTS. 2 New outdoor lighted fields.
I hear you, soccer fans, you are saying
“WAIT. WAIT. WAIT. THE FIELDS AT CHURCH ARE LIKE BRIAR PATCH!”
To which I say,
“Keep your soccer shorts on. Just maybe we have been in conversations with a lawn specialist. Just maybe we are killing the weeds, renting special equipment, leveling the field, planting seed, getting nice goals, spraying lines, and putting outdoor lighting.”
(gasps and applause and silence)
But, we also hear you, those of you who say,
“I’d rather have a million paper cuts and take a bath in lemon juice than play soccer.”
To which I say,
“Well then, we better have some awesome outdoor area to sit, hang out, fire pit, listen to music and just be together while enjoying some nice desserts while watching ambitious people exercise. And, if you feel ambitious, we can rock a game of Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball or paper football!”
*This all starts once fields are ready (prolly beginning June)
3.Continuing to invest in community groups. Launching one more because of all the interest!
- Contact Ben Willey or Mike Candy if interested
4. Looking for local arenas to live out the Gospel and to show Jesus’ love.
These will be periodic and will update you as ideas come up.
If you have an idea, talk to Erika Ricchini or Ben Willey
5. Gearing up for the fall to begin Once-a-months again and to see what God might have for us then!
Talk to Erik Bakke about this one.
Thanks for your patience as we look to the Spirit, the needs of people, and seek to change and love accordingly.
Love you guys,
Ben
